Coming to live at the Surr’enity House has been without a doubt the best decision made for me. I was truly at that turning point asking the question, what is there left to do? Go on living as I was to the bitter end with alcohol and drugs or turn my will and my life over to the care of God as I understand him? Ha! Yes like I understood God, So in just total surrender, the Surr’enity House became an option for me. Homeless or home? And so the best decision of my life I did not see coming was a place to call home. Since I have been a small part of this project, God has placed men and women in my life that live by principals such as Honesty, Integrity, Perseverance, Humility, Courage, Justice, Brotherly Love, Hope, Faith and Patience. Through these men and women, God is showing me how to live. So I guess it could be summed up for me in this way….The Surr’enity House is nothing less than Amazing Grace!
The Surr’enity House has been such a huge part of my sobriety. It’s a safe environment with great people who only want to help. At first I was a little nervous and apprehensive about coming here. However, after being here, and securing a job, I have realized that this is the best decision I have made in a long time. I am surrounded by people who would drop anything to help me with anything I am having trouble with. I do not know of anywhere else where people are willing to do that. The amount of gratitude I have for people running the house, and the people in it, is inexpressible. If I could go back in time and get sober sooner and come here sooner I would. I would not be the man I am today if it weren’t for the Surr’enity House.
